Wind power

Wind power stands out as the most efficient and practical renewable and clean energy solution. The entire U.S. electric output could be provided by wind power.

wind power ranging from 250 watts to 1.8 megawatts (MW).

Recently a new horizontal wind turbine was introduced by a company in Wyoming -Terra Moya Aqua.
Company officials said traditional propeller-driven turbines are able to convert 25 percent to 40 percent of wind power into transmittable energy. But TMA's design is 43 percent to 45 percent efficient, creating up to 80 percent more power from the same wind.

The average U.S. household consumes about 10,000 kWh of electricity each year. A 10-kW wind turbine can generate about enough to power a typical household with wind speeds averaging 12 miles per hour. A 1.8-MW turbine can produce more than 5.2 million kWh in a year--enough to power more than 500 households.
